NME.com announced the Coachella 2006 lineup today, and my reaction would be best described as "lukewarm". Don’t get my wrong – there’s some great stuff in there. There’s Depeche Mode, Franz Ferdinand, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Devendra Banhart, Wolf Parade, Metric, The Dears, The Subways and Be Your Own Pet. But there is a LOT of bands in there that I don’t even find to be listenable. To make matters worse, there’s a lot of hip-hop too. And as much as I dislike hip-hop, I would hate live hip-hop even more.
